Tale of the Panasonic...

So, I bought a Panasonic S5 MkII a while back took a couple of shots with it and liked it but it was a time of transition for me. I wanted more megapixels for big prints and I felt that it wouldn't cut the mustard (Cue a pacman character eating these very words)! A friend who shoots a lot of video asked if he could borrow it for some shoots, so off it went and to be honest I forgot about it...  Until it landed back at my house a week or two ago, with and I quote "Knackered battery won't hold any charge, I've got an S1 MkII coming, so I don't need this anymore!" Err thanks, how about some cash for a new battery then?

Anyway this Full framer that I hardly knew was back in the fold but I use Fuji right? So I put it on the camera shelf in the office and forgot about it again until last week when I spied it there. Just before we went out for a train ride to Dent and Ribblehead, I thought to myself, go on give it another go. Upshot, I absolutely love it, so much so I've decided to keep it and now can't stop looking at the Panasonic S1R MkII as well! I can't put my finger on it but the Panasonic just seems to have that secret sauce, no Fuji Colours but somehow everything looks just about right, very real. Well now I have many more cameras that I know what to do with. It's been a trying year or two as my health worsens and I try to slim down what I actually use in the field so to speak, because I just cannot carry two bodies and a heap of lenses anymore. Just one body that I like and a few choice lenses be they zooms or primes, you know this S5II just may be the ticket.
