There are a multiplicity of photographers and photography. I like to describe myself as an "Actual e photographer". Let me explain, I don't work for anyone else, I have no agenda, no deadline, I am not trying to produce something to a pre prescribed formula, only that, that I see, at least as near as I can get to it. Accuracy here is very important to me, if you come here looking for artificial, digitally over produced, colour explosion in a paint factory photography, then I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place! I'm a firm believer that you can't top Mother Nature in that regard! The medium I use however is Digital, hence the "e", I do try as faithfully as my aging brain can to reproduce what I see. I work in the English Lake District, why? Because I love it and it just happens to be on my doorstep, why is that important in this day and age of easy travel? Because of my other Ethos and that is, that I try to walk everywhere I can. I have difficulty here, I suffer chronic asthma, have a lot of back trouble and Arthritis in very nearly every joint of my body, it hurts but I feel very strongly that I should not destroy that which feeds me both physically and creatively. In essence, the Lake District itself, it's for that reason I eschew a Car preferring to get the bus, which in turn leads to problems in getting to certain places at the right times of day for Landscape Photography. (Thank you Stagecoach and Local Government!) I walk in and Walk out and leave nothing behind save for some muddy footprints. In short I care about it, I care what happens to it, I worry for it's future, that's My message really, my Mission statement, that's what this site is all about, hopefully it comes across in at last some of the images! I am not however a tree hugging evangelist, The Lake District is a living working entity and part of that entity is You! if you don't come it will all be lost, I see the Juxtaposition here but tourism is the Lake Districts life blood, all I ask is that you care...
Cheers Jules...
